One of the students of the Kumasi Girls Senior High School (name withheld) has revealed that there has been a starvation at the school over the past weeks.
According to the student, there was inadequate food to sustain the students so they wanted to go home to get some provisions.
Speaking to Ali Baba Dankambary on Kessben Breaking News and monitored by TVNEWSGH.COM, she noted that the students had to take their own sugar and bread to the dining hall for breakfast.
“On Monday, our headmistress called us and said we were to go home for a midterm break but the headmistress domestic called all the prefects and told them to convey the message to them that the midterm is canceled. We started screaming because there was poor communication. As things stand, we do not have food to eat. We don’t have food on campus. When we give money to day students to buy provisions for us they seize them. Our parents are not allowed on campus because of covid-19. We go to dining with our own bread and sugar so we wanted to go home and bring provisions. We had this experience since last Monday”.
Students of St Louis Girls Senior High School and Kumasi Girls Senior High Senior went on rampage on Monday after which a joint police-military team went to the schools to calm the situation.
Reacting to this report on Kessben Breaking News on Monday 21st July, 2021 the Public Relations Officer Micheal Ofori Amanfo denied the report of Security men beating up the students.
He dared any students who had gone through such ordeal to come out with evident to assist them in their investigation into the matter.
Mr. Ofori Amanfo assured the parents and students that the situation is under control and calm has returned campus.
