Nhyiaeso MP’s murder Attempt: Police hunt for Suspects

Ashanti Regional Police have begun investigations into a case of armed robbery on the Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso Constituency, Kennedy Kankam.

According to the Police,the legislator and his family were attacked by three masked men with arms at his residence on Saturday and they took away laptops, phones, an unspecified amount of money and a TV set together with his v8 Land Cruiser which later found it near Kwadaso.

The unidentified assailants reportedly scaled a wall into the main yard of the MP’s residence and used a metal cutter to gain access to his bedroom

Public Affairs Officer at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, ASP Mr. Godwin Ahianyo said no arrest has been made so far.

Crime scene personnel have visited the MP’s home and statements taken from him, his wife and the house help.

He noted that the Police will need support from the citizenry by providing accurate information.

The latest incident follows the gruesome murder of Takoradi Constituency Treasurer of the NPP, at Fijai.

Mr Mark Ofori was shot and killed by unknown assailants who gained access to his home last week.
