Asokore Mampong Municipal assembly of Ashanti region is under monitoring vis-a-vis the execution of budgeted projects and activities outlined in their developed action plan.
So far 9 Civil Society Organisations have been trained and deployed by officials of No Business as Usual (NBU) Project to monitor and evaluate the activities of Hon Alidu Seidu led Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly (AMMA) by way of budget tracking.
This forms part of measures toward ensuring that projects enlisted for execution are well carried out to the fullest without any omission.
The CSOs will be guided by a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E,) template provided by officials of NBU Project.
With the M&E template, they will monitor and calculate the extent to which budgeted projects have been implemented.
This according to NBU officials will be done every month and that at the end of each month, the templates will be collected to see what each CSO has been able to do.
The CSOs are also to report and question authorities of the assembly on poorly and untouched projects within the Municipality and also push for the needed corrections.
Assigned CSOs include; Centre for Community Livelihood and Development (CCLD), Empowerment Centre for Women and Children ( ECWC), Muslim Family Counselling Services (MFCS), Voice of the Vulnerable (VOV), Network of Empowered Youth for Development (NEYOD), Seed of Hope Foundation (SOH), Assemblies of God Cooperative and Credit Union (AoGCCU), Centre for the Development of Children and SOS Children Villages, Kumasi location.
The above-catalogued organisations were officially assigned on 29th August 2019 during a meeting held by officials at the Hub of NBU.
NBU Project Manager Mr. Daniel Okity-Boamah announced in an exclusive interview that the coined action in question will empower CSOs within the Municipality to take up the challenge and fight for the development of the area even when project comes to an end.
“They will be able to fight for the cause of the masses who live within this Municipality and we(NBU) will give them all the needed support to champion this course” he indicated.
