The District Chief Executive of Sekyere Kumawu Hon Addai Agyekum with the officials from the Assembly and health directorate have presented dozens of nose masks and boxes of alcohol-based hand sanitizers to the people of Kumawu.
The groups benefited from the exercise were the Christian Council, Muslim Community, Transport Unions and Market Women.
According to the DCE, the move will help stop the spread of the coronavirus when they properly follow all the protocols.
Presenting the items on behalf of the DCE, the Health Director said the items were part of Assembly’s unrelenting efforts to fight COVID-19 in the District.
He allayed the fears of people in the District saying the virus will not have any chance to spread to suppress the local economy when followed all the directives.
Therefore called on the general public to make to it a duty to wear the nose mask, wash their hands, use the sanitizers and practice social distancing.
In dealing with covid-19, government has procured 20million vaccines where the first consignment has arrived in the country for the people to be vaccinated against the pandemic.
The groups however expressed so much joy and appreciation towards the DCE’s gesture.
They assured the items will be put into good use.
