Former President and Presidential Candidate of National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has been advised to call President Nana Addo Dankuah Akufo-Addo, to concede defeat without any delay.
The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Richard Akwasi Asante, gave the advice after Supreme Court confirmed the victory of the President in the 2020 election by unanimously dismissing the election petition filed by Mr Dramani Mahama.
Speaking to the media in Kumasi, Mr Asante, described Mahama’s petition as a ‘light weight goods’ which shouldn’t have been filed in the apex court.
According him, Nana Akuffo Addo, after losing a similar petition, called to congratulate Mr Mahama, therefore same congratulatory message should be extended to the president without any delay.
The Vice Chairman disclosed Former President Mahama should apologize to supporters of NDC for misleading them to believe he won the election, knowing he lost same.
Mr Asante said with such deception, and without any evidence to support the petition , NDC supporters should not forgive Mr Mahama if he fails to render to them an apology.
