It is now confirmed that thirty-four persons were died in the accident at Dompoase near Komenda in the Central Region.
The gory accident, which occurred in the morning on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 involved a Man Diesel bus with registration number GR 5704-18 – which is said to be travelling from Takoradi to Accra – and a Hyundai bus with registration number GN 3780-10 heading in the opposite direction.
Earlier on we were told 35 persons were confirmed dead but the police personnel came to scene to rescue the victims it emerged that 54 passengers were seriously injured.
An eye witness told TVNEWSGH.COM that the Tskoradi bound bus was trying overtaking and in attempt collided with the opposite bus.
The sad news among is that the two drivers died instantly with one driver’s head chopped off completely.
One baby and two children were also died in the gory accident.
Fire Service Officers and police according to report rescued the victims and sent to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment and deceased are also at the morgue of the same hospital.
