The former Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, Hon. Benjamin Kofi Ayeh has declared his intentions to contest the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) regional chairmanship position in the Central region.
Mr. Ayeh indicated that he is waiting patiently for the party to open nomination to enable him fike for the position.
Declaring on Kessben 92.9 a private radio station in Accra and monitored by TVNEWSGH.COM, he says his ambition is to serve his party but this time on regional chairmanship ticket.
He noted “NPP have gotten to where we should break the 8, and we need someone who has what it takes to help break the 8. With my experience of to win an election, as a two term MP for my Constituency. The current chairman has done his bit and I’m told that he is going to the national level and for that matter we need a little change in Central Region of the party that is why I’m coming to the fold to help bring the change to break the 8 we wish in 2024 elections”
The current central regional chairman Mr. Robert Kutin Jnr is vying for the national Chairman position of the NPP, hence the position becomes vacant.
NPP is set to hold a national delegates conference early next year in Kumasi to elect the party national executives.
The ruling New Patriotic Party is currently on a regional tour organizing regional delegates conferences.
