Asanko Gold Mines, a private Gold mining company within the Amansie South and West Districts of the Ashanti region has began a road maintenance project in the area.
Aimed at reshaping and improving the bad road networks in the area, covering 53 kilometers stretch of road , it forms an integral part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Environmental and External Relations Manager, Mr. Eric Darko announced this at a joint press conference by the mining company and the District Assembly .
He added that project will costs the company $392, 000 and would be executed quarterly across the breath and length of the entire district .
According to him, the company has done lots of projects to improve the lives of the people in the area and sees the road issue as a major need to tackle.
The District Chief Executive Hon Clement Opoku Gyamfi in his joyous mood thanked the Asanko Gold Mines for the laudable initiative to ease some burden of the assembly particularly on roads.
Speaking to Akua-Piesie after the press confab, Mr. Opoku Gyamfi explained the importance of this alliance from the Asanko Gold Mines to work their bad road networks.
