PRESS CONFERENCE BY DELEGATES TO ENDORSE THE CANDIDATURE OF HON. KWADWO BAAH AGYEMANG GOING INTO THE PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES FOR ELECTION 2020

We the under listed delegates wish to seize this golden opportunity to endorse the candidature of HON. KWADWO BAAH AGYEMANG as well as financially support his bid for the 2020 parliamentary ticket of the New Patriotic Party in Asante Akyem North Constituency.

The fact that Members of Parliament plays critical roles in contributing to the electoral fortunes of political parties cannot be overemphasized. It is so because the popularity or otherwise of any political party at the constituency level rests on the shoulders of its Members of Parliament.

Fortunately, elections are also won at the grassroots, so if a member of parliament is underperforming, it will definitely affect his political party. The good people of Asante Akyem North Constituency believe the central government has performed exceptionally well; however, the performance of our MP, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi has been extremely poor. This has affected grassroots mobilization, creating apathy and dissatisfaction for the party.

This is the reason why we have been motivated as delegates to vote out Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi who have shown gross incompetence, arrogance, vindictiveness, thuggery and selfishness since he assumed power as the Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem North Constituency.

We are witnesses to the monumental achievements of Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang during his reign as Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem North Constituency between 2012 to 2016. Even as an opposition MP, he defied all odds to provide the reliefs that his constituents needed. He helped to maintain the sanctity of the Parliamentary seat and ensured that peace, tranquility and oneness prevailed here at the constituency. What we are experiencing today under Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi smack of ineptitude and disgrace; a sharp departure from our former enviable feat.

Fellow delegates, let us be patriotic enough to save the party from the current non-performing and self-seeking MP. The kind of leadership we need is one that is characterized by humility, selflessness, representative and sensitive with the necessary competence to deliver the needful. It is for this reason we present to you Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, the peoples person. His level of intelligence coupled with his burning desire to empower the youth is a great testament to the fact that we have to do all within our means to ensure that he becomes the face of Asante Akyem North constituency once more.

In this regard, we the concerned delegates of Asante Akyem North Constituency have contributed GHc 1,000.00 to augment the amount needed to file the nomination of Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang.
To conclude with, we wish to state that the NPP is paramount and bigger than any individual or MP and that must be the first consideration as to who becomes a Parliamentary candidate. As we go into this parliamentary primaries, let be guided to choose a good leader in the person of Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, not one with selfish interests.
Thank you.
