President Akufo-Addo has reacted to the punishment by Ghana Education Service (GES) which seeks to dismiss some 14 final year students over insubordination.
Nana Addo has directed the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to engage the Ghana Education Service (GES) to reconsider the decision to ban the dismissed final year student from taking part if the ongoing WAEC exams.
In a statement signed by Director of Communication at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin and copied to TVNEWSGH.COM says “even the acts of indiscipline undertaken by these students are intolerable, acts which have led their dismissal subsequent from the school, President Akufo-Addo is of the view that dismissal alone is enough punishment, and will serve as enough deterrent against future acts of indiscipline” it stated
“The President believes that everyone deserves a second chance in life, and is, thus, hopeful that the students will be allowed by GES to take their final examinations as scheduled” it added
The statement further stated that all other punishment imposed by the relevant authorities remain in place.
